I had reached my 60s and the film work I was being offered was not so interesting, although I did work on some nice dance projects along with a few interesting documentaries. I tried my hand at making clothes from African cloth, also did a bit of painting, then I directed a feature documentary about Lee Thompson from Madness

‘Who Framed Jesus?’ is a fascinating documentary which takes a forensic approach to examining the murder of Jesus of Nazareth in the city of Jerusalem. The incident is said to have taken place on the evening of April 15 30CE. We filmed this in the studios in Ouarzazate Morocco where several feature film sets remain standing after the crew have left enabling TV companies to hire them for smaller productions. The local crew are very good although sometimes filming during Ramadan can prove difficult as muslims are not allowed to drink or eat during daylight hours and the crew can get quite weak.

This documentary about Steve Winwood took me and the director to California and while we were there eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull the Icelandic volcano happened, halting all air travel, which forced us to remain in a nice hotel at the expense of the BBC
